Man Canberra pleads guilty of drug trafficking, denies involvement to US import

Lawyers for a man from Canberra have denied that he has anything to do with a collection of methamphetamine sent from California to an address.

Gerardo Penna is judged in the Supreme Court for the attempt to hold a commercial amount of drugs, through an agreement of two other persons.

He has already pleaded guilty of drug trafficking, but struggles with the suggestion that he was involved in their import.

Police replaces drugs and deliver

The jury has heard that the alleged crime came to light when the Sydney police intercepted a parcel containing methamphetamine mixed with aluminum powder.

The court said that the drugs were replaced and the parcel sent to Canberra where he was delivered by a police officer posing as a delivery man.

Prosecutor Josh Nottle said that the parcel was addressed to a man whom one of the women knew, but to her.

The police will claim that it was actually intended for Mr. Penna and that the woman who received the parcel was to receive some free drugs.

The jury heard after the parcel was delivered the police was thrown into the house.

Accused “does not confess to be an angel”

Mr. Nottle said that while looking in the premises, one of the women received a text message from someone called “Superd ** K”, who told him to put everything back to how it was and leave.

He said the police would claim that Mr. Penna was nearby when he sent the message.

The jury has heard that the key evidence in this case will focus on encrypted text messages on a platform called “session” and telephone conversations.

Lawyer of Mr. Penna, Beth Morrisroe, asked the jury to take into account the fact that he had pleaded guilty of traffic.

“He accepts his offenses”, “

Said Mrs. Morrisroe.

“He does not confess that he is an angel, but he denies any involvement in import.”

It is expected that the process will take place for up to four weeks.
