From Dial-up Internet on a device, the size of a suitcase transports to the rapid lightning wifi on a device that can fit in the back pocket, it is safe to say that we could not provide the speed with which the technology would develop and evolve. We couldn’t even understand what was possible. Technology has redefined our way of life, including the way we learn.

Until the 21st century, all the preparation was safely offered in a class or practical apprenticeship, under the careful guardianship of an experienced instructor. The workers either had to go physically to training or to bring their training. Both options were disturbing, time and expensive.

This is radically different now, thanks to computers, tablets, smartphones, virtual reality headphones (VR), smart watches and smart personal protective equipment (PPE).

Whether it is the Internet, Cloud, Software or an application, there are an increasing number of ways to provide digital, both synchronous and asynchronous training. You can participate from a distance in a whole degree program, in the hours of hours, microlearning, periodic updates, gamped learning modules or 60 -second safety moments.

All this must say that EHS professionals have many options to teach the best and strengthen the safety training for a diverse workforce, using a variety of different learning styles, which are minimally disruptive to operations.

There is no mentality or mentality, but a mentality. These digital devices do not replace training; Rather, I am another tool that EHS professionals can use to improve, strengthen or supplement the existing safety training offers. Due to the digital training, EHS professionals have the ability to reach more people, including those who work alone or in distant areas. This allows organizations to extend their dollars and release more resources for additional training, take more proactive measures and, finally, make jobs safer for more people.

There are apparently unlimited opportunities for digital formation, but efficacy, involvement rate and long -term retention levels with employees require still a careful eye and judicious implementation.
