Lie detector signals deception in the New India Cooperative Banking

The Mumbai Police Economic Offenses wing announced on Monday that they received a test detector test report on Hitesh Mehta, the main accused in the cooperative bank of India Rs 122. The report suggests the potential deception in Mehta’s responses during the test, raising suspicion regarding his involvement.

The test detector test, conducted by the Kalina Criminal Science Laboratory, stressed inconsistencies in Mehta’s answers. EOW officials have quoted these inconsistencies as possible indicators of deception, strengthening the case against Mehta.

Mehta, the former general manager and head of bank accounts, is accused of diverting funds over five years. The investigation started after the audits revealed cash deficiencies, causing RBI to impose restrictions and appoint an administrator. Mehta was arrested last month under the charge of misappropriation.
