What are PIP invalidity payments and why could they change?

What are PIP invalidity payments and why could they change?

When Pip was introduced in 2013, the goal was to save 1.4 billion pounds per year by reducing the number of people eligible for payments.

However, the initial economies were modest, and the number of applicants increased.

PIP is now the second size element of the working age invoice, the expenses expected to double up to 34 billion pounds by 2029-30.

In general, the government currently spends 65 billion pounds a year for health and disability benefits. It is expected to grow up to 100 billion pounds by 2029.

As a result, there is a pressing of ministers to make changes and encourage people to work.

Initially, it was believed that PIP payments could not increase in accordance with the inflation of one year -but it is believed that this idea was withdrawn after the labor parliamentarians expressed the opposition.

Another option would be to strengthen the criteria, changing the scoring system for those who qualify.
