Four confirmed victims as the red flag warning remains in effect

The Oklahoma Emergency Management Department has launched an update starting Sunday evening, while wild fires continue to affect the state.

According to Odem, a red flag warning will remain in force for the majority of Oklahoma, from 11:00 to 22:00 Monday, March 17.

A clock for fire weather will remain in effect for Oklahoma until Tuesday.

The office of the medical examiner -Chief confirmed four victims as a result of fires and big winds:

  • 1 Death – Lincoln County
  • 1 Death – Garfield County
  • 1 Death – Haskell County
  • 1 Death – Pawnee County

Oklahoma’s state health department reported 142 wounds due to severe weather.

  • 7 – burned
  • 9 – cut/pierce
  • 31 – fall
  • 1 – intoxication
  • 16 – hit
  • 36 – reported by transportation
  • 42 – other fires or wind -related wind

The American Red Cross has four remaining open shelters for the residents of Oklahoma who need:

  • The first Methodist church in Mannford, 100 E. Greenwood Ave, Mannford, Oklahoma
  • Grand Casino, Grand Eagle Room, 777 Grand Casino Boulevard, Shawnee, Oklahoma
  • Luther Community Center, 18120 Hog Back Road, Luther, Oklahoma
  • Payne County FairGrounds, 4518 Expo Circle East, Stillwater, Oklahoma

Odem asks the residents of Oklahoma to report the damage to the properties caused by wild fires or winds to Damage.ok.Gov.

Residents looking for information on non-urgenous or health disasters and human services can form 211. Services are available for 24 hours.

Emergency Federal Management Agency (FEMA) approved the state’s request for 13 fire management assistance (FMAG) for the following fires:

  • 840 Road Fire – Leedey, Roger Mills County
  • Stillwater Fire – Stillwater, Payne County
  • Luther Fire – Luther/Arcadia/Edmond, Oklahoma County
  • East Thunderbird Fire – Little Ax/Norman, Cleveland County
  • Little Salt Creek Fire – Mannford, Creek County
  • Chandler Fire – Chandler, Lincoln County
  • Logan County Fire – Guthrie, Logan County
  • Wildhorse Fire – Velma, Stephens County
  • Clear Pond Fire – Bethel Acres/Shawnee, Pottawatomie County
  • Underwood Fire – Yale / Cushing, Payne County
  • Keystone Fire – Osage, Pawnee County
  • Barn Fire – Cleveland, Pawnee County
  • Norge Fire – Chickasha, Grade County
