Port Elgin is one of the five Grey Bruce communities who will benefit from police, health and social experts who will provide critical information on drug trafficking, consumption of substances, addictions and strategies to reduce communities at free seminars in April.

Community Plan for safety and well -being (CSWBP) The action table for crime prevention, community drug and alcohol strategy and various partners invite community members to the City Hall sessions.

A press release from March 17 said the sessions will provide a comprehensive look at drug trafficking, including what it is, the warning signs, the way in which the emerging investigations and trends are carried out.
Participants will also hear from health professionals about substance consumption, damage reduction approaches and addiction services to support people and families.

By meeting the experts from applying the law, health and social services, this workshop aims to increase awareness, favor collaboration and strengthen the community’s answers to the challenges associated with drug trafficking and substance consumption.

The news communiqué said thanks to many community partners for their collaboration and giving in supporting the community plan for safety and well -being and this initiative. “Together, we work to build a safer, healthier and more inclusive community.”

Community safety and welfare planning help organizations improve the things that keep us healthy, happy and safe. It uses research to create solutions focused on education, medical care, food, housing, income, crime and belonging.
It emphasizes the importance of creating a welcoming community in which problems are solved before happening and where different professionals and members of the community meet to help people now and in the future.

The ongoing works of CSWBP is supported by a consultative committee representing over 78 partners from the whole Bruce and Gray, who work together to address crime prevention through social development, prevention and risk interventions. This preventive model upstream focuses on the creation of protective factors that make individuals less vulnerable to crime and victimization.
