Large amounts of fentanel and cocaine seized in Peterborough

Peterborough-three people face seven accusations combined under Criminal code and The act controlled by drugs and substances After the search warrants were executed in Peterborough, Ottawa and Sault. Marie.

The provincial police in Ontario (OPP) organized the Office of Crime Application (OCEB) and the drug unit of the Peterborough Police Service (PPS) began a drug trafficking in the summer of 2024, which led to arrest in January 2025.

On March 3, 2025, the officers performed a stop of the vehicle and arrested a person for drug trafficking offenses. Three search warrants were also executed in Peterborough, Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie by OPB officers, OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau, Sault Ste. Marie OPP, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP Community Street Crime Unit, PPS and Sault Ste. Marie Police Service (SSMP).

On March 6, 2025, SSMPS executed a search warrant.

The investigation led to the confiscation of the following items:

  • Approximately 635 g of suspected fentanel
  • About 60 g of suspected cocaine
  • About $ 10,000 in Canadian currency
  • Four mobile phones

The estimated street value of confiscated drugs is $ 133,000.

Jonathan Morningstar, 31 years old in Ottawa, was charged with the next two offenses in CC and CDSA:

  • Holding of properties obtained by crime
  • Possession for the purpose of traffic – Fentanil

The accused was released from the arrest and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa, on April 17, 2025.

Antonio Williams, 30, from Toronto, was charged with the following three crimes in CC and CDSA:

  • Holding of properties obtained by crime
  • Possession for the purpose of traffic – Fentanil
  • Possession for the purpose of traffic – cocaine

The accused has been withdrawn in arrest and is scheduled to present himself before the Court of Justice in Ontario in Sault Ste. Marie on March 31, 2025.

Kyle McLelland, the age of 20 years in Sault Ste. Marie, was charged with the following two CDSA offenses:

  • Possession for the purpose of traffic – Fentanil
  • Possession for the purpose of traffic – cocaine

The accused has been withdrawn in arrest and is scheduled to present himself before the Court of Justice in Ontario in Sault Ste. Marie on March 31, 2025.
