A man was found critically injured on a path at the intersection between Camperdown RD and the RD, around 2.20, Monday.

He died yesterday morning at Wellington Hospital.

It was the second serious incident, following the storm of a Darlington RD address 20 minutes earlier, where two adults found a stranger in their home.

After confronting and fought with one of the residents, the intruder fled.

The police that investigated the burglary then found the wounded and unconscious man at a short distance from his vehicle.

Parallel investigations are in progress both in incidents and police still work to determine if there is any connection between the two.

The member of the Miramar community, Ryan Street, told RNZ with the latest events that took place in the area, residents were “worried”.

Street has argued that in recent years there has been an increased amount of crime in MiRAMAR, which has included house robberies and car theft.

He wanted to bring agents like the police and the Local Council of Wellington for a meeting with residents to support them.

“Basically, bringing together only a few leaders of the community, who will provide some insurance to our community that we are on the right track and you know that there are people there who take care of each other.”

Street said he hopes that the meeting will take place at the beginning of next week and that he was in discussions with the potential options of the place in the area.
