Police said James Sheen, 40, drove two vehicles stolen by the locked gates of the palace around 5 in the morning.

The group then used Sledgehammers and Crowbars to enter the house before removing the toilet, loading it behind one of the vehicles and leaving.

Prosecutors said that “carefully”, it was an “auditory attack” that lasted only 5 minutes.

“But the responsible ones were not careful enough, leaving a trace of forensics, CCTV images and phone data,” said the senior prosecutor of the Shan Saunders crown.

Police said none of the gold in the toilet was recovered and was likely to have been broken or melted shortly after it was stolen.

The superintendent of the police detective of the Thames Valley, Bruce Riddell, said that his team was committed to recover “cash and assets” in relation to the crime.

“The recovery of the assets is complex, and the criminals involved become more sophisticated in the ways in which they try to prevent their criminal profits,” he said.

Prosecutors said Sheen sent Michael Jones, 39, to make a palace recognition in the days that led to theft, taking pictures of potential entrance points and the gold toilet itself.

Jones was also present the night the sculpture was stolen.

The jury heard that a few days after burglary, Sheen contacted Fred Doe, 36, about selling gold, using coded messages regarding gold bars as “cars”, each worth 26,000 kilograms.

On Tuesday, local time, a jury at Oxford Crown Court found Jones guilty of burglary and doe culprit to conspire to convert or transfer criminal goods.

Sheen recognized the crimes earlier this year and was accused of burglary, conspiring to convert or transfer the criminal goods and transform or transfer criminal goods.

Prosecutors said that “hundreds” of gold fragments were discovered on route trousers seized at home. The analysis showed them non -stinging by the gold from which the toilet was made.

Its DNA was also found on an abandoned sled on the spot and in the stolen truck used in RAID.

Men will be convicted of a later date.
