The couple receives a maximum prison penalty on neglecting child, the case of human trafficking

Kanawha County, W.Va. (WSAZ) – a couple found guilty of human trafficking and neglecting the child received the maximum prison punishment.

Jeanne Whitefeather was sentenced to 215, while Donald Lantz was sentenced to 160 years in prison.

Whitefeather will be eligible for freedom conditioned in 49 years. Lantz will be eligible for freedom conditioned in 36 years.

The couple was ordered to pay $ 280,000 for the refund of victims.

The case started after the children were found in prison in a closed area of ​​a barn in Sissonville.

The children were discovered in October 2023 by the deputies of the sheriff in Kanawha County, resulting in the arrest of both Lantz and Whitefeather.

Whitefeather was found guilty of all 19 accusations he faced, including for forced work, civil rights, abuse and serious neglect.

Lantz was found guilty of 16 charges, including trafficking in people, neglect and forced work. He was found guilty of four charges of civil rights violations.
