YMCA Community event highlights free summer programs for young

Honolulu (Hawaiinewsnow) – families and children gathered on Saturday for a day of outdoor activities and adventure on the northern shore of Oahu.

YMCA Camp HR Erdman hosted his annual community day in the Kaena Point State Park, with activities such as swimming, high racing courses, a climb of the 40 -meter tower, archery, hiking and more.

Also participants have come to find out about Free YMCA programs available around Oahu for teenagers this summer. Opportunities include:

  • The Summer y Teen Club, open to students who are or have completed grades 6-7 that allow pre-adolescents to grow, connect and have fun.
  • The management of summer juniors, open to students who are or have completed classes 8-11 and focus on the development of leadership, teamwork and community service.
  • Windward Aquatic Aquatic, open to students who are or have completed grades 6-10 to develop future swimming and rescuers.

Those interested are encouraged to register soon As the spaces are filled quickly.

Meanwhile, Camp Erdman is preparing for the 100th anniversary feast in 2026.

The public is encouraged to share stories and memories of their camp experiences – from young and family from the past and counselors to the participants in the school program.
