Toledo, Ohio (Wtvg/Gray News)-A 18-year-old Ohio man is in critical condition after a meeting for a shoe sale has turned into a robbery.

But last Saturday’s sale did not prove to be a simple transaction.

Simmons’s family member told the officers an argument broke out on a pair of Balenciaga shoes and their authenticity and price.

The person Simmons met came to the meeting place with someone on the passenger seat, said a member of the police family.

The family member said they felt restless and took a picture with the vehicle, but when the passenger snatched the shoes and tried to leave.

Simmons refused to let go of the shoes, and the vehicle continued. He continued to cling, but eventually he was pushed from the vehicle, his family said. “Now, our child is fighting for his life.”

“I saw him throwing himself from the car that goes about 70 to 80 km / h,” the family member shared.

Simmons’ family members said they tried to chase the vehicle, but they couldn’t get caught.

Teldeo police have gathered evidence from the scene, but noted in their report that the people involved were not immediately identifiable from the surveillance video in the area.

Simmons was just 18 years old and had to graduate Woodward this year. The loved ones say they continue to be in critical condition at the hospital.
