“My sincere feeling is that I was relieved after the report of the group’s report and its conclusions,” the woman said in a statement issued by her lawyer.

The Independent Committee stated, on March 31, that the former employee was subjected to a “serious human rights violation” that took place “as an extension of the job” and that the top directors “had no understanding of sexual violence and showed insufficient concern to help the victim.”

Nakai, 52 years old, was left to appear in shows for approximately 1½ years After the top directors learned about the incident. In the light of the scandal, Nakai retired from the business show in January.

The committee was established in January to probe Fuji TV’s response, after a weekly magazine reported that he was engaged in a non-research sex with a woman from a June 2023 dinner. Later, he paid an extrajudicial settlement of 90 million (806,760 USD).

The statement of the former employee also described the “renewed feelings of frustration”, because the almost 400-page report of the group revealed information he learned for the first time about Nakai answers and then President Fuji TV, Koichi Minato.

“What I suffered will not disappear as long as I live, and what I lost will not return,” she said, adding: “I want from the heart that the cases like mine will disappear not only from the media entertainment industry, but from society as a whole.”

A group lawyer said on March 31 that the probe found a persistent culture of sexual harassment on Fuji TV.

The findings of the group received national attention, the internal minister and the communications, Seiichiro Murakami, saying that on April 1 he intends to confirm the content of the report and to quickly consider an appropriate answer.

The report of the panel comes just a few days after the Japanese broadcaster TBS landed in hot water from a viral clip of the show All-Star show, which was broadcast on March 29.

The comedian Egashira 2:50, whose real name is Hideharu Egashira, apologized to my actress Nagano, after apparently harassed her on the room.

In the clips of the show circulating online, the 59-year-old comedian, whose gags often involve his chest, follows Nagano, 25, around the set in a bikini Shell’s top and screams at her: “Become my woman!”

He also stuck his tongue to her in a licking movement.

While some thought it was simply a comedic gag to make the show more interesting, it quickly followed a reaction. Netizans noted how uncomfortable Nagano looked and how inadequate was the sting.

Egashira apologized to Nagano in a video uploaded on her YouTube channel on March 30. At one point in the 16-minute clip, he climbed to his knees, he tilted and said, “If I hurt you, Mei Nagano, I’m sorry.” He also explained that he did not notice Nagano crying during the program filming and took full responsibility for the segment.

Later, Nagano clarified a radio program broadcast on March 31 that he had a good time filming the show and that her tears were simply a “normal physical reaction, similar to the way you break when she was”.

She said, “I didn’t expect it to come to me, but he did so suddenly. And he moved so well and so quickly … I was simply surprised and surprised, so I broke.” Kyodo News
