Westmeath communities encouraged to take part in the “Street Holiday”

People living in the Sunday area Well Road and Auburn Road organized a OM 2023 street holiday.

Street Feast returned for the 15th year, Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, when the neighbors meet for a common meal, a discussion and a chance to turn foreigners into friends.

In a world where we are more connected than ever, many of us still do not know the people who live next to, and the street holiday is to change that.

Street The holiday promotes social inclusion, integration and a feeling of belonging in communities; 96% of the participants in 2024 say that their feeling of belonging has increased since their street feast.

Street Feast was launched in 2010 and almost 75,500 took part in national holidays last year.

Whether it is a simple cup in the garden, a picnic in the park or a street party, hosting a street holiday is an easy and significant way to build a stronger, more connected community.
