The Court rejects the bail of the ordinary offender involved in the steal of cattle

Taking a note of 11 criminal files registered against a youth in the UDUPI districts and Dakshina Kannada, a UDUPI court rejected the demand for anticipatory bail of a 25-year-old resident in Moodbidri, which is appointed in a case of recently registered cattle recently within the limits of the police station in Karkala.

The second additional district judge and sessions, UDUPI, A. Samulla, on February 28, rejected the request for anticipatory bail filed by Safwan.

On February 22, 2025, a sulochana tied oxen inside the compound of its property, after they returned from the evening. Around 3 o’clock in the morning, on February 23, he saw some people who removed their four oxen in a white colored car. The police in the city of Karkala registered the complaint and named Safwan as accused no.3. Awaiting arrest, Safwan filed the request for bail before the court.

Objective at the request for bail, the investigation officer submitted a report that offers details about the eight criminal cases against Safwan in Karkala, Karkala Rural, Ajekar and Hebri Police in Uduupi district and three cases registered in the Moodbidri Police Section of the Mangaluru Police Commission.

The prosecutor claimed that Safwan has abandoned the case in the police station in Karkala. The crimes committed by Safwan are of nature that cannot be real. There is a chance that he will commit similar offenses and remain abandoned. There is a chance that he will realize the criminal witnesses, the prosecutor said.

By rejecting the request, the judge of February 28 said, Safwan was an ordinary offender. There are a lot of cases against Safwan and other accused are still arrested in this case. If he is released on bail, there is a chance that he will commit similar offenses and run away from the hands of justice. Then it would be difficult to follow and make it cope with the process. Safwan did not make a case to free him on bail, the judge noticed.
