Two federal subsidies interrupted for Riley County

The federal government has reduced two subsidies for the Riley County Health Department related to disease prevention and treatment, officials said on Thursday.

Since March 24, the federal government has interrupted four subsidies for the Kansas health departments, two of which affect Riley County. All state health departments received notifications on March 26. The last day the funds could be spent were March 24.

The interrupted subsidies are immunization and grant vaccine for children, as well as epidemiology and laboratory capacity for infectious diseases.
