A man was accused of murder in the death of his mother’s lover’s lover in Mobile County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputies received an appeal around 4:30 pm on Friday that someone was shot in the 2000 block of Whip Poor Will Court South in Semmes, said the Mobile County Sheriff’s office in a statement.

The appellant, Michael Blake Allen, 32, identified as a shooter, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials said Dennis Walker Owens died on the spot.

Allen told the detectives that his mother and Owens separated themselves after they were hired and that Owens was in the process of moving, according to the sheriff’s office. Allen said that while Owens visited the house to recover her goods, she started shouting at Allen and loading him. Allen said he warned Owens to stop and then shot him, according to the sheriff’s office.

After being arrested and interviewed, Allen was accused of murder. He was booked in Mobile County subway prison on Friday night, and has a bond hearing on Monday, according to prison records.
