Mavericks survive against low hornets, without the lamelo ball, 103-96

Dallas Mavericks returned home to cope with Charlotte Hornets, who made NBA history losing three direct games with over 35 points. Dallas had no excuse to lose this game, even with injuries to PJ Washington, Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford and Caleb Martin. Charlotte lacked a complete rotation of the players, Lamelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Jusuf Nurkic and many more are missing.

With all those players, Dallas started Kyrie Irving, Max Christie, Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Moses Brown, the 30th different start line of the season. Charlotte started KJ Simpson, Nick Smith Jr., Josh Green, Miles Bridges and Mark Williams.

The crime started slowly, but Hornets lost the size of the size earlier, once Mark Williams raised two faults in the first minutes. Moise Brown had the first two buckets for Dallas before Klay Thompson had one and one, and Max Christie had a few buckets. Nick Smith Jr. received Hornets on the board and was followed by a three-pointer from former Maverick Josh Green. Dallas offered a tribute video at the first time.

The MAVs quickly arrived above Hornets, 18-7, but once Dallas entered the bench, the management began to disappear. A drive of 7-0 Hornets brought him back four before Kyrie Irving hit a blow over Seth Curry. But Hornets continued to work and dropped to three in the last minute of the quarter; Then Miles Bridges brought it to one. That would be the difference after the first frame, because Dallas led 25-24.

KJ Simpson and Nick Smith Jr. began the rear yarn quarter to provide them with a 5-point advantage, finishing a 11-0-database running. Spencer Dinwiddie tried to bring Mavericks back to her, passing three points and trying to get unpleasant calls and led to success for Hornets.

Dallas’s beginners came back, and Kyrie Irving, Moses Brown and Klay Thompson helped restore an advance. Brown especially had some beautiful down finishes, including one on the left wing on a broken piece. Dante Exum helped to expand this advance, hitting a three and choosing a transition and reaching the cart. But Mark Williams fought with Hornets back, hitting consecutive buckets to tie the game with a few minutes left in the quarter. Spencer Dinwiddie will hit three and both teams hit two, while MAVS took a thin advantage of 50-49 at the break.

Charlotte found a lot of success in offensive with the high screen with Mark Williams and offered her on the roll, because Moise Brown did not have a wonderful answer to him. This allowed them to resume the management while Dallas fought again in the crime, starting at only 3/9 from the floor. Kyrie Irving received MAVS back in front three before Nick Smith Jr. reply with one back. But Irving was in GO mode, hitting a few other baskets to give four in a row for MAVS, as they turned in front.

The offenses have dried up again on the extension of the third, but it would be an advance of 73-67 for MAVS that is heading for the fourth.

Hornets started the fourth with two straight buckets, but Moise Brown was the ignition for Dallas to start away. He had two Dunks and put his hands on the crossing tape to start a quick yield, which led to three for Klay Thompson on a 7-0 running. But Hornets continued to fight, while Miles Bridges hit two wires near the middle of the quarter to tie the game again as part of an 8-0 run.

Then the fourth quarter Kai activated. He was responsible for nine right points for MAVs, marking three buckets and attending another. But he missed three to reduce the lead to 10, and Hornets even returned to make a single possession with Miles Bridges. Just over two minutes to play, Hornets had the ball down with three.

But Irving stole the ball, and Klay Thompson hit a corner to expand the lead to six, then received a stop, and Irving finished on the band on the other end to get the driving to eight. Moise Brown managed the game with a Dunk to get the lead to 10, and that would be all he wrote. Dallas will win 103-96.

This game was much closer than it needed, because Mavericks shot only 41.2% from the floor, 30.6% of three and shot only 16 free throws with Hornets playing the game from the end.

Kyrie Irving led Mavericks with 25 points, 9 recovery and 5 assistants. Moise Brown had a wonderful game with 20 points, 11 recovery, three thefts and two blocks. Klay Thompson (18 points) and Dante Exum (12 points, 4 thefts) were also in double figures.

Mark Williams had a monster game for Charlotte, ending with 26 points and 16 recovery. Miles Bridges I joined with a double-duplicate of 20 points and 12 recovery. Nick Smith Jr. (12 points) and KJ Simpson (11 points) also had 10+ points. Josh Green had only seven points in his first return to Dallas.
