Paterson Trio charged $ 190 cheating, illegal possession of weapons

Hackensack, nj – Three residents of the patents were arrested on an organized theft scheme that frauduated victims of about 190,000, announced on Friday the Bergen County Prosecutor, Mark Musella.

Yasen R. Delgado, 26, Ahjainay N. Gawthney, 27, and Deligado Delgado, 31, were arrested following a one -week investigation that involved several law enforcement agencies. The trio is accused of orchestrating a scam in which the appellants involved law officials and bond bonds, threatening victims with arrest, unless they have taught large amounts of money.

The authorities launched the investigation in January 2025, after receiving reports on fraudulent calls in which the victims were told that they have outstanding mandates for the missing trial or the duties of the jury. The victims were trained to meet in person with an alleged official and to provide cash payments to avoid arrest.

Detectives have identified suspects by pursuing and supervising the computer crime of a vehicle used to transport them to and from fraudulent meetings. On February 27, law enforcement forces executed search warrants at two Paterson residences related to suspects, where they discovered illegal drugs, drug parafernal, cash and weapons. The authorities recovered a loaded, unregistered gun, with an empty point, belonging to Yasen Delgado, as well as an illegal assault rifle belonging to Delgado.

All three suspects were accused of several crimes, including theft by deception, extortion, money laundering, drug holding and weapon violations. They remain in the custody of the Sheriff’s office in Bergen county while waiting for the first appearances at the court at the Superior Court of Bergen County.

The authorities credited the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, the Passon County Police Prosecutor’s Office and numerous local and federal law enforcement agencies for their role in investigation.
