The plans for repatriation of the Kenian officer who was killed in Haiti from the Dominican Republic in Kenya are ongoing, the multinational assistance mission in Haiti announced.

The mission said that there is a constant communication and coordination between MSS officials, the National Police Service, the Office for External Relations of the Dominican Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya.

“In addition, the necessary documentation is completed, and the arrangements for the transport of the body are coordinated with the relevant authorities,” the MSS statement shows.

MSS said the officer exuded heroism above and beyond the debt call and paid the final price in a service line.

“The fallen Gallant officer exposed brave. He was a disciplined officer and a real hero. He amplified the dedication and commitment to the duty of each MSS officer – to restore the right and order in Haiti, our beloved country. “

The officer, the 26 -year -old police, Samuel Kaetuai, is the first victim suffered by the multinational multinational security assistance mission led by Kenya.

The force was sent to Haiti in June last year to help restore the order in the country, where the bands took control of almost the entire capital, Au-Prince, as well as large areas of rural areas.

Over 5,500 people were killed in the band violence in Haiti in 2024 and over one million people fled their homes.

The officer was shot by a member of the band during a security operation in the city of Pont-Stedé.

In solidarity with the officers, the president of the TPC in Haiti, Leslie Voltaire, visited the MSS headquarters on March 1, 2025, to face the team.

Different ambassadors from Haiti sent MSS family condolence messages.

Further, on March 2, 2025, the general inspector of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, condulated family and friends at the house of the deceased in Kajiado County.

“Even though Jelim’s loss of our officer, MSS promises the Haitian people to continue cooperating with the Haitan National Police, more decisive operations and will continue with the patrols to disrupt the tape activities.”
