Suspect arrested after the KnifePoint robbery in the center of Barrie

The incident happened around 10 pm last night on Collier Street; In eight minutes after the call, the police say they suspect in arrest

A 33 -year -old Barrie man was accused of robbery after being arrested by police on Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 10 pm, on March 5, Barrie Police says that the officers responded to a reported robbery on Collier Street, to the East of ClapPrton, who involved a man who was believed to be armed with a knife.

In eight minutes of receiving the appeal, the police say that the respondent officers were able to catch the suspect without incidents. However, no weapon was located.

The suspect was taken to the Barrie Police headquarters on Fairview Road, where the investigation continued, and the suspect was officially accused of robbery.

He was detained under arrest and was scheduled to appear by video for a bailiff hearing at Barrie Courthouse sometime today.

“The Barrie Police Service wants to recognize the actions of the victim who could move away from his attacker, announce the police and monitor the exact location of the man until the police arrived and took it safely,” the police said in a press release.
