The man who drove the empire of 200 pounds with his father thought they were untouchable but remained quickly without luck

“Obviously, he thought it was Pablo Escobar and untouchable.”

Christopher Welsh Junior, formerly from Lyndale Avenue in Eastham, received another six months to 28 years he is already in prison for drug offenses

A chief of the crime nicknamed “Escobar removed” – who was closed because he led a drug empire with his father – continued his illegal activities in prison.

The notorious trafficker Christopher Welsh JR led an organized crime group that provided cocaine and heroin worth tens of millions of pounds to Glasgow bands.

Drugs, which are estimated to have a street value between 100 million and 200 million pounds, have allowed Welsh Jr Jr to live a luxury life.

The couriers working for the group, led by Welsh JR and his father Christopher Welsh Snr, made at least 111 travelers as part of the massive cross -border operation, according to Titan, the former organized crime unit in North West.

A “Despiration conspiracy” also saw one of Welsh JNR confidants to become the “motor force” behind a plot to provide cocaine, heroine and amphetamines in areas of North Wales and northern England, including Bolton.

Gang left without luck

Welsh Jr has enjoyed a series of holidays around the world and even blew 57,000 pounds in money to fly friends to Cancun for his wedding without interruption, reports Liverpool Echowhich revised the case of the Historical Court, which was one of the largest of its kind in the region.

Clearly believing that his business put in the same category with narco-terrorist Pablo Escobar, who gathered an estimated net value of $ 30 billion, Welsh JR and his friends wore shirts with “Pablo’s stag.”.

However, the gang remained without luck and received significant prison penalties in May 2013. But Welsh JR has not been left without problems and, returning to his old ways in just two months, there was again heroin and cocaine trafficking.

During two separate conspiracies, around 3 million pounds were moved from Merseyside to other regions. Welsh JR has received more time in prison to run in a row at his previous punishment.

When Welsh JR, the former Lyndale Avenue in Eastham, Wirral and his father, from Paley Close in Anfield, Liverpool, appeared before the court in 2013, a top judge told them that they had trafficking in large amounts of drugs “following an extravagant life.” Welsh enjoyed ordinary holidays in Mexico, Spain, Holland, Greece and the Red Sea resort in Sharm El Sheikh.

Christopher Welsh Snr

Describing the Mr. Drug’s holiday in Mexico in 2011, the Titan’s superintendent, Jason Hudson said: “He is close to him.

“Obviously, he thought it was Pablo Escobar and untouchable. It was a lavish trip and they had the deer when they were there at the same time.

“If you have not worked and do not have a job, what kind of message do you send when you can afford to pay for 40 friends and family to go to such a travel? The only way he could afford this trip was through high drug trafficking levels.”

However, while the father and son, and the right -wing man Mark Shields, have obtained significant financial rewards, the vast majority of 30 crimes of 30 people claimed benefits and were forced to deposit drugs or act as couriers to resolve debts.

The upper hierarchy controlled a network of “warehouses” in Kirkdale, Walton and Everton, while others were dislocated to Glasgow. Welsh JR used at least 43 uncontrolled mobile payment phones to direct couriers and arrange meetings.

The police made a series of seizures on the space of a year – the recovery of 32 kg of class A drugs and 105 kg of mixing agent with a street value of little below 12 million pounds. However, this was described as the “tip of the iceberg”.

The reality of the scale of the drug surgery was that the seizures were barely doing a depth. Gang made at least 111 travelers, using both road and railway networks, which is believed to have involved the shipment up to two kilograms of drugs simultaneously, putting the potential value of the street up to 200 million pounds.

Gang avoided detection by dressing up and mixing with other passengers, including commuters. One of the tape made 18 travelers before being arrested by making the 19th trip in October 2012. Gang, based mainly in North Liverpool, was then rounded in a series of raids.

Huge seizures

When the police attacked an apartment in Patmos Close, Everton, which was used as a safe house, one of the gang has launched a briefcase on the window. It was opened and it turned out that it contains 2.76 kg of heroin.

The scale of the operation was illustrated by discovering a presse of 10 tons and molds at the house of a member of an Orry Street band, used to pack and compare the heroin powder into professional solid blocks.

Top Judge David Aubrey Kc said that the Welsh are the “chief directors” and they told the wider band: “At the same time, there would have been addicted to bleak and desperate drugs that did not appear on desperate alley for their next solution, as a result of your activities.

Gasca, which was nicknamed “Dirty Thirty”, appeared before the courts of May 2013. Ringleader Welsh Jr was sentenced to 16 years and eight months, while his father was given a sentence of 15 years and four months.

Shields, from Bluebell Close in Kirkby, was sentenced to 14 years and eight months, while Lieutenants Christopher Amos, Vesuvius Street in Kirkdale, and James Edmonds, from every Kensington street, received both 13 years and four months.

Welshes and Co -their conspirators challenged their sentences in the Court of Appeal in 2014. However, Mr. Justice Leveson -one of the country’s highest judges, said the extent of the rocket was “truly massive” and threw all the cases of tape.

John Reid

“Sophisticated and determined” Welsh JR was again class A class trafficking drugs two months after it was closed. Using a mobile phone with smuggling and SIM cards, he sent trusted allies to Glasgow to provide a crime group led by Scottish gangster John Reid, while still in his cell at HMP Garth.

But Titan detectives have taken information from the prison system and launched a new probe called the Prion Operation. Detective Hudson’s superintendent, who drove the probe in Welsh JR again, said: “Christopher Welsh’s hearing and his associates is amazing, but eventually it was his fall and for this he now pays a very difficult price.”

Detectives have noticed new drug runners making nine shower trips -440 miles to Glasgow with deliveries for Reid’s crime group. During these drug running, the pair was in constant telephone contact with both Welsh and Reid. Welsh was sought by prison officers in October 2013 and was found to hide the phone in his clothing and SIM books in an intimate area.

Wendy Abraham

Judge Denis Watson KC, who chaired Welsh’s second conviction, told the criminal that his actions had shown a “complete contempt for the law.” Welsh JR saw 12 years old add to his prison sentence, resulting in a huge total of 27 years when he considered his initial sentence.

The conspiracy “Splinter”

However, perhaps displaying the sophistication of the plot and the experience of those involved in it, a spll conspiracy that involved another of the confidants Welsh Jr Neil Sutemire has appeared soon.

Styssing, from Percy Street in Bootle, has become “motor force” behind a plot to provide cocaine, heroin and amphetamines in the country of Northern West, West Cumbria, Bolton and Middlesbrough.

Survity has been closed for 14 years, while “his trusted courier” Wendy Abraham, from the Roughwood Drive in Kirkby, received 10 and a half years behind bars to play “significant” roles in both conspiracies. Abraham was also involved in a conspiracy to smuggle phones, steroids and cannabis in prisons in her bra for two of his former partners: Jack Holt, from Cuckoo Lane in PrestwichAnd Paul Mount 31, from Whtory Drive in A -Ghton.

Judge Watson said that others took advantage of the “loyalty and naivety” of the former nurse Abraham, but suggested that “he still knew.”

DET suck Hudson added at the time of the December 2015 sentence: “Going again after Welsh, we also managed to put influential associates such as Neil Sutemire, John Reid, Stephen Wigha and Stephen Bennett, before the courts, and today, they look at very long sentences.

“Mr. Welsh, in particular, is facing a huge period of time in prison, because he had barely deepened in the 17 years he was already serving and, at 37, he will be considerably older and to be removed, very much, to the end, when he will eventually come out.

People say that leopards cannot change their stains and Christopher Welsh has certainly proved that, again, several of his criminals joined in prison. “

Other criminals collapsed as part of the two operations included four men and a woman from Merseyside, Cumbria, Bolton and Middlesbrough, who were sentenced to a total combined 23 years. The Reid Scottish tape leader from Cumbernauld Road from Glasgow received nine years, four months behind bars for his part in conspiracy.

Welsh JR continued to withdraw and found it again in problems with the authorities, after being discovered twice with phones in prison in 2020 and 2021.

A court heard that it was discovered that it has an iPhone and SIM card in HMP Wymott, Lancashire, in August of that year and then, after being moved to HMP Berwyn in Wales, was found with a small Zanco mobile and a SIM in April.

He claimed that the phones were going to contact the family during the restrictive prison regimes adopted during Covid blockages. He acknowledged that he owns objects specified in prison and has handed a six -month imprisonment for crimes – a period that will be added to the 28 years he is already serving.
