The United Kingdom has arrested in Andamans for the “sexual aggression” of the woman from Bengaluru: Police

The police in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands arrested a UK national because he had sexually assaulted a tourist woman from Bengaluru, officials said on Monday.

According to the complaint of the police filed by the 30-year-old victim, the incident took place in a diving resort from Govind Nagar (beach no. 2) of Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Islands) on February 26.

A zero wire was deposited by the victim on March 6, which was subsequently divided to the Swaraj Dweep police station, officials said.

Speaking with the PTI, South Andaman Sp Manoj Kumar Meena said: “I have arrested the national foreigner. He is currently in the judicial custody of 14 days. The probe is started and we are waiting for the medical documents.” The investigation revealed that the victim traveled to Andamani with a friend and visited Swaraj Dweep on vacation later, where they met this foreign citizen who learned diving.

“It seems to socialize in the islands, and on February 26, the victim claimed that her drink was stung and, later, when she regained consciousness in the resort, found it in a vulnerable state. She returned to her hometown and informed her parents about the incident.

In the wire, she said that trauma and amnesia were the reasons why they complained after more than a week.

According to Fi, the national of the UK was arrested under section 64 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with the punishment for rape crime, section 115 (2) of the NBS (the punishment for the voluntary challenge of the wounds) and of the section 351 (2) of the BNS (the crime of criminal intimidation).
