Washington man arrested for burglary at Lewiston Business

Lewiston – a Washington state man was arrested on Saturday about a theft at a Cayuga street business, according to the Lewiston police department.

Robert A. Merk, 56, from Gig Harbor, Washington, was arrested in the Porter city following a two -day investigation.

The incident started on Thursday, when the officers responded to a report of Larcenia and criminal mistakes at a business in Lewiston.

Merk has been accused of burglary of the third degree, third -degree criminal mistakes and Petit Larceny.

Currently, he is held at the prison in Niagara county, waiting for centralized notification.

Lewiston police were assisted at the arrest site by the Niagara County and New York State Police office.
