UNODC Youth Forum 2025 is right behind the corner!

UNODC Youth Forum 2025 is right behind the corner!

For more than a decade, the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has been at the forefront of young people as agents of changing substance consumption. By the initiative for UNODC youth, young leaders from various environments engage with each other in a dynamic platform to find out about evidence-based prevention, to change ideas and to strengthen their role in outlining a healthier future. A foundation stone of this initiative is the annual UNODC youth forum, organized within the Narcotic Drug Commission (CND), offering young participants a unique opportunity to contribute to global drug policy.

What to expect

Taking place during 10March 12, 2025The Youth Forum this year will bring together young people from 25 countries, giving them an opportunity to share experiences, explore effective prevention strategies and model your discussions and presentations led by youth. Their presence and participation reaffirms the recognition by the united nation and the international community of the involvement of young people as crucial in encouraging healthier and more resistant societies. The youth forum favors intercultural exchange, collaboration and significant dialogue, ensuring that various prospects contribute to innovative solutions in preventing substance consumption.

Throughout the three-day forum, participants will be involved in discussions led by experts, interactive workshops and peer learning sessions focused on strengthening their understanding of drug prevention, driving and advocacy. An essential point of the forum will be the development of the youth statement, a collective call to action that will be presented in the plenary of Narcotic Drug Commission (CND)striving to integrate the prospects of young people into international drug policy.

Pre-Forum activities: Put the base for a significant involvement

In preparing the Youth Forum, participants participate in pre-Forum activities, a series of online tasks involved to improve their UNODC activity, to introduce them to key concepts in prevention science and to encourage connections with participating colleagues. These activities serve to prepare young leaders for their personal involvement, equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to contribute effectively during the forum.

Through interactive discussions and network opportunities, participants will explore the fundamental drug prevention principles, change information from their local contexts and begin to outline their contributions to the forum. When they meet in person, a basis for collaboration will have been set up, making the youth forum an even more impactful experience.

Stay connected and follow the trip

With an early building, participants in young people make connections that, hopefully, expand beyond the Youth Forum. We will share peeks that led to the event, including the expectations of young people from their participation.
