Tokayev, Novak discusses commercial cooperation, energy at Astana – Business & Economy

Astana, February 25 /Tass /. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander in Astana to discuss cooperation issues between the two countries in the energy sector, the Kazakh leader’s press service said.

“The meeting focused on problems of further consolidation of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. <...> Moreover, interaction problems in the energy sector have been discussed, “the statement shows.

According to the Bureau of National Statistics in Kazakhstan, Russia was the main commercial partner of the Republic in terms of imports last year, the share of Russian goods reaching 30.5%.

In the energy sector, Kazakhstan and Russia also cooperate continuously, especially in oil and gas and electricity areas. At the end of 2024, Novak announced the development of the route of a gas pipeline, with a capacity of 45 cubic meters of 45 thousand from Russia in China, through Kazakhstan, 10 Cubic meters of 10 BN intended for the gasification of the northern regions of the Republic.
