Woman raped on the bus parked in Pun; Accused today on Run-Telangana

Suspect Dattatraya Ramdas Gade has cases of theft, snatching the chain recorded against him, the police say

Put: A man with a criminal record would have raped a 26 -year -old woman inside a stationary state transport bus at the Swargate bus stand on the city, police said on Wednesday, adding that several teams are looking for the accused.

The incident that took place on Tuesday morning attracted sharp reactions from the opposition leaders, who blamed the department of origin held by the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis because he failed to deal with the growing crime in the region.

Dattatraya Ramdas Gade (36 years old), the suspect, registered cases of theft and snatching the chain against him, said an official of the Swargate Police Section.

Swargate is one of the largest bus junctions of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

According to the woman, while waiting for a bus for Phantan in the Satara district, at one of the platforms, around 5.45, on Tuesday, a man approached her and hired it in the conversation, calling it “Didi” ( sister) and said he said the bus for Satara had reached another platform.

He then led to a bus of the needle “Shiv Shahi”, parked elsewhere, in the spaces of the stretching station.

As the lights inside the bus were not lit, she hesitated to enter at first, but the man convinced it to be the right bus. She could get on the bus and look at itself using a torch, he told her.

He then followed him inside and raped it before running, said the police woman.

The police identified the accused Gade from the CCTV materials and several teams were formed to follow him, the official said.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Smarta Patil police later told reporters that CCTV records showed the woman heading for the bus.

She said many people and more buses in the station headquarters when the incident took place, she said. The woman did not close to the police immediately after the incident, but took a bus for Phantan and told her friend’s incident on the phone while traveling, DCP said.

After her friend’s advice, she went down the city’s limits and went to the police station, Patil said.

The condition of the woman was stable and gave a clear statement to the police, the official said, adding that a rape case was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The cases have been registered in the past against Gade within the limits of the Shikrapur and Shirur police station, said DCP, adding that the police have formed eight teams to take it.

A team of dogs Sniffer was also pressed in service, she said.

The leader of the NCP (SP) and the parliamentarian Baramati Supriya Sule were thrown at the Maharashtra government, led by the BJP, following the incident.

She mentioned a police station, and the area is patrolled by the routine, she mentioned.

“Another attack takes place in Swargate, which shows that the antisocial elements are not afraid of law. The home department failed to reduce crime in Pun. The process of this case should be organized in a quick route court, and the accused must obtain a severe punishment, ”said reporters.

The head of the Maharashtra Congress, Harshwardhan Sapkal, claimed that rape incidents have grown in the state.

MSRTC buses are Maharashtra’s rescue line, and now there has been a rape inside a MSRTC bus, he said.

“When the nirbhaya ganghapian incident took place in Delhi, people changed the regime. You (the government led by the BJP) promote the Laadki Bahin scheme for women (offering financial help), but ignore the basic problems of people, ”he said.
