Driver accused of murder in the accident of DUI I-65 who killed the 70-year-old man

A Maylene man was charged in the death of a 70 -year -old man on the interstate 65.

A great jury of Shelby County issued the crime indictment against Tristan M., 38 years old, Rose last month. Rose has been arrested this week and is held without bonds, because prosecutors are trying to revoke their obligation for a previous burglary charges.

Lowell “Brent” Sibley was killed on August 6.

Authorities said he was traveling south to I-65 in Alabaster, when he was hit by another vehicle around 3 pm on Tuesday. The accident happened about a mile north of Alabaster.

The Oneonta man was taken to Shelby Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, said Shelby County, Lina Evans.

Sibley was leading a Nissan border that was hit by a Chevrolet blazer led by Rose from Maylene.

After the initial collapse, the Nissan border overturned several times.

The indictment against Rose said that he drove recklessly while under the influence of a controlled substance.
