Five shot after parade mardi fat in Franklinton, says the police

Franklinton, at. (WVUE) – A shooting following the parade Pepe Mardi Gras in Franklinton left five people injured on Sunday evening (March 2), the authorities said. A victim remains in critical condition.

The shootings happened around 7 pm near the parade route, according to Franklinton Police.

The officers and deputies of the parish sheriff in Washington, already stationed in the area, have been in a hurry and offered emergency medical help until the paramedic arrival.

Two of the victims were treated and released from hospitals in the area, the police said. Another two remain hospitalized in a stable condition, but guarded, while the fifth victim is in critical condition.

Authorities have taken a person of interest in arrest, while detectives continue to look for additional suspects.

Investigators have not yet launched details about a reason or if the victims were targeted.

On a separate incident at the beginning of the day, the police arrested two young people who were found carrying firearms along the parade route in a school area.

Also, the officers met an individual armed with an Ar-15 style rifle after the reports of a potential threat, although it is not clear whether that incident was related to the subsequent shooting.
