The monolith co-founder wants to restart convicted, but says “Please have zero expectations”

Jace Hall, co-founder Monolith Productions, has expressed a strong interest to restore the Rancid horror game Sentenced: criminal origins and its continuation, convicted 2: Bloodshot. It is not entirely clear as it would do, given that monolith no longer exists as a brand nameFollowing the discounts at the company -Mother Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and that room itself does not seem to be directly involved in the development of the game or in these days. That being said, he it is the only current owner of convicted intellectual property. So, if a remake happens, it will have to happen through it.

All this comes in the form of a single tweet, following a request for the fans of the monoliths grieved to “make the remake 1 & 2 convicted and quite f ** king around”. hall replied: “I will see what may be possible. Absolutely no promise. Please have zero expectations. This will take me some time.”

Hall left Monolith in 2003 – two years before the launch of criminal origins on Xbox 360 – to work in a executive role at Warner. While he was in Warner, he co-cast the plans for a convicted universe, pouring into the realm of the film, but these ambitions have never come to an end. Hall left for Warner in 2008 to work on a series of outfits largely concerned about business models, entertainment and sports production.

Even though he moved between roles, however, Hall did not forget to be convicted. In 2015, he wrote on facebook That “I am constantly asked when they could create a third game” and that he “considers finding an interested and proven indie development team and offering them, so that he can take over the franchise and advance it.”

Talking to Ian Games Later, Hall reiterated that: “I will grant a license to use the franchise in general, and the chosen developer will be able to choose what kind of game they want to make. They can choose their vision of content. They can build impulses. Maybe a prequel. Maybe a simple mobile phone application for starters. It’s everything on the table. I am open to hear new ideas. ”

Would you like to go back? I think the criminal origins are A well -worked horror game With an excellent vicious and antsy-body fight, but “well-worked”, here, it may be a justification for the fantasy of playing a policeman who beats homeless and addicted to a pipe. That the policeman’s victims were moved and led by Berserk by a McGuffin Sci-Fantasy does not truly counteract the argument that the game actively channels hatred from the least lucky, although Monolith are hard to do with horror games that have done this.

I am not sure in which game developer I would trust to bring back convicted. I guess the quickfix corrective optics would be to turn the tables and fight with a bunch of disturbed and screaming cops.
