Abington Police Foundation Didort Funds to support Fire Companies Following SPS Fire

Abington – The Absington Police Foundation has announced that funds raised at Joe Conklin’s comedy and the Rhythm City Orchestra on the Keswick theater will be redirected to help the five Voluntary Fire Companies Absington Township.

The Fire Department of Abington is made up of companies: Abington, McKinley, Weldon, Edge Hill and Roslyn. This donation will help replace critical equipment, including personal protection equipment that has been damaged or destroyed in response to the devastating fire of the SPS building that has recently taken place in the city.

The decision to deviate the funds was taken after consulting local emergency response teams, recognizing the pressing need for additional protective equipment for local firefighters. The Fire Department of Absington has worked tirelessly to respond to the SPS fire, and these funds will help ensure that volunteer firefighters have the necessary tools to stay safe in future emergency situations.

“We are incredibly proud of the resistance of our community and the support we have received from the public in such a provocative moment,” said Patrick Molloy, the head of the Absington police. “While comedy event Joe Conklin and City Rhythm Orchestra was initially intended to raise funds for the Police Foundation, we believe that the redirection of these revenues to help our firefighters with Crucial PPE and other equipment is the right course of action to support the safety and well -being of all our volunteer firefighters.”

“The SPS fire was a catastrophic event, with extensive damages that affect the resources of the Volunteer Abington Township fire department. With the dedication and continuous commitment of our emergency respondents, this redirection of funds will travel a long way to be properly equipped to manage the requirements of future crises, ”the Foundation said in a press release.

“The Abington Police Foundation extends the deepest gratitude to all participants in events, donors and volunteers

The mission of the Abington Police Foundation is focused on ensuring that the Absington Police Department has the resources, training and support necessary to effectively serve and protect the community.
