Washington (AP) -Most of the 80,000 federal workers responsible for disease research, food inspection and Medicare and Medicaid administration under the auspices of the Human Health and Services Department have been sent through E -mail to leave their jobs for a payment of $ 25,000, as part of the Donald Trump Government.

Workers cannot start opting until Monday and have until Friday until 5:00 pm to send an answer for the so-called voluntary separation offer. E -mail was sent to the staff from the entire department, which includes centers for the control and prevention of diseases in Atlanta, as well as the national health institutes, as well as the administration for food and drugs, both of Maryland.

E -mass mail went out to a “wide population of HHS employees”, landing in the E -mail boxes a few days before the heads of the Agency offer plans for the reduction of the labor forces. HHS is one of the most expensive Federal Agents of the Government, with an annual budget of about 1.7 trillion, which is mostly spent to cover medical care for millions of people registered in Medicare and Medicaid.

The Agency supervises health insurance for about half of the country by medical adults and medication for Americans with disabilities and poor.

There was no comment immediately on Sunday from HHS.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s health secretary, understood the plans for deep discounts to the staff. Last year, he promised that he would immediately delete 600 employees at NIH, the nation’s biomedical research arm. It did not go so far, but in an interview last month shortly after being sworn last month, Kennedy said he wants to remove some workers from public health agencies.

“I have a list in my head,” Kennedy said about the potential dismissals at the agency. He said that some workers “made really bad decisions” on the guidelines on nutrition.

The Trump administration, with the help of billionaire Elon Musk, tried to push federal workers in the effort to reduce costs. In January, most federal employees received a delayed resignation offer that came with eight months. Thousands of test employees were also dismissed in federal agencies, including HHS.

The latest movement to reduce the number of federal health workers comes, because the CDC assists in a fatal measles outbreak in Western Texas and New Mexico and, while parliamentarians debate deep Medicaid discounts in the federal budget.

HHS workers are directed in E -mail to reach their local human resources office to submit the voluntary separation.
