Barrie Resident accused of driving affected in Kawartha lakes

Kawartha-Oraș Kawartha OPP lakes responded to a traffic complaint on Kings Wharf Road on a vehicle stuck on a ditch on February 7, 2025 at about 14:00

Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the driver and after an investigation charges were established.

Kimberly Elliott, 34 years old, was arrested and charged with operation while affected (alcohol and drugs) and operation while affected (blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg).

Following the charges, the driver received a 90 -day license suspension, and the vehicle was imposed for 7 days.

The OPP reminds all drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving. The OPP remains employed to remove the affected drivers from the roads both by application and by public education. Get in life, drive sober.
