Rally, organized on March 13, came just one day after the 17 -year -old was accused of appeal and battery about the incident.

Dozens participated in the rally from outside the IC Nurch high school in Portsmouth, Virginia, where Everett spoke an emotional speech, thanking those who supported it, Ny post reported.

“Thank you for supporting me,” she said tears. “There is no one else who wants to hear my story, except for the people who know me and I know I will never do that.

Her speech was greeted with applause and songs of “Stay with you”.

The National Association of Portsmouth for the advancement of colorful persons (NAACP), James Boyd, spoke at the meeting, condemning the threats that the Everett family received from the incident.

“The Everett family has experienced racial slips, have experienced death threats and we believe unequivocally that those things are unacceptable,” Boyd said.

Lynchburg Commonwealth prosecutor confirmed Fox News Digital That Everett was accused of a number of attack and battery offenses.

The incident took place during a championship meeting last Tuesday, when the movies showed Everett hitting the junior of the Brookville high school, Kalen Tucker, in the head, with a stick during a relay race. As a result, Everett and his entire team were disqualified.

Tucker was diagnosed with an emotion and a possible skull fracture. The video of the incident became quickly viral.

Since then Everett denied any intentional offense, saying CORRUGATED and Good morning America In interviews, the hit was accidental.

Virginia High School League (VHSL) then issued a statement to Fox News Digital.

“VHSL does not comment on natural persons or disciplinary actions due to Ferpa (the law on educational rights and family confidentiality),” the statement shows. “The actions taken by the meeting director to disqualify the runner have been appropriate and correct. We analyze in detail each court as this involving the safety of the players with the participating schools.”

Before announcing the accusations, Portsmouth Naacp launched a statement in support of Everett, rejecting the statements that he did malicious Tucker.

“Alaila is not an attacker, and the media titles that allude to this way are shameful,” the statement shows. “Alaila is a student of honor and a star athlete. Of all the accounts, he is an exceptional young and scientist whose athletic talent has been well documented and recognized in our entire state. It has been integrated both on the ground and outside the land, and any narrative that judges him for any criminal activity is a criminal law.”
