The spring man arrested after Constable County Preccri 4 says he watched and shot the suspect theft

Spring, Texas (Ktrk) – A spring man was arrested after someone else entered the car. The leader of Harris Preccri 4 county said that it was because he drove the suspect thief and then shot him.

The arrest was posted on the point. 4 and people’s Facebook page are divided. They say that this was either someone who rightly protects their property, or someone who led it too far.

ABC13 addressed Steve Shellist legal expert for legal breakdown.

“Texas is very friendly when it comes to self -defense, but the status of self -defense is quite complex,” shellist said.

His advice: If you hold a weapon in Texas, read the law to know your rights. However, he was able to provide a general overall image when it comes to using self -defense for properties.

“You are allowed in Texas to defend the property. You can defend your property. You can defend someone else’s property,” shellist said.

When it comes to the use of the fatal force, it is legal when someone commits fire, theft, robbery, theft during the night or criminal mistakes during the night.

“Then the question becomes:” OK, what happens when that theft stopped and the person tries to run away from the stage? “What we see,” shellist said.

This is the scenario that the investigators said happened in the spring on Tuesday.

Shellist said that Texas law allows you to prevent someone from running out of a scene with your property, but just because the law does not mean that it is always worth it.

“My advice is to leave it. Let the person escape the property, because it is not worth taking another person over it and protecting your own rights and interests, because you will probably be charged. You will probably be arrested and you will have to go through the process and it is not worth it,” said Shellist.

ABC13 addressed the prosecutor of the Harris County District on the spring case.

They said that an appearance in court was expected on Thursday, and the shooter was released from prison, citing mental or intellectual disabilities.
