Ukraine practically destroys the Sudzha key gas stations – Russia

Russia, on Friday, accused Ukraine of attacking its energy installations, despite a moratorium on such strikes, saying that a key piece of gas infrastructure in Sudzha was practically destroyed.

An Ukrainian official said that Russia has attacked the transit point of Sudzha.

We remind that the United States announced separate agreements with Ukraine and Russia on Tuesday to interrupt their strikes in the Black Sea and against the other’s energy targets, potential step stones, which Washington hopes to lead to cessation and peace discussions to bring a definitive end to the three-year war.

However, each party accused the other for breaking the energy armistice, emphasizing the fragility of US intermediation agreements.

Daily Post reports that Sudzha, in the Western region of Russia in Kursk, is the place of a gas metering station at the transit point, where Russia pumped pipe gas in Ukraine and in Europe by the end of last year.

It seems that the flows stopped on January 1 after Ukraine refused to renew the agreement because of the war.

The infrastructure of pipes for possible Russian gas exports through Ukraine to Europe remains in force, including in other locations, but the Sudzha installation should be rebuilt for gas to be pumped there at any time in the future.

“On March 28, around 10:20, the KIV regime launched a double attack, using, according to preliminary information, the Himars missiles at the Sudzha gas metering station, which led to a major fire, and the energy installation was practically destroyed,” said the Ministry of Russian Defense.

Russia previously accused Ukraine of attacked the same installation on March 21, which Kyiv denied.

Sudzha was the largest settlement in a piece of the Russian territory that Ukraine confiscated in August last year, in a shock incursion. Since then, Russia has regained most of the area.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukraine also attacked Belgorod electricity installations, causing interruptions there and tried to hit an oil refinery in the Saratov region.
