Sarpanch Murder, the exit of the minister and what is between

Mumbai:

Dhananjay’s resignation as minister Maharashtra marks a key stage in the fall of December of a Sarpanch, who revealed the rural development in the state and the nexus of the political crime that exceeds this development.

Santosh Deshmukh, the Massajog Village Sarpanch, was tortured and killed on December 9th. The investigation revealed that the 45 -year -old tried to stop an attempt to extort a wind energy company operating in the region.

A request for extortion Rs 2 crore

Avada, an ecological energy company in Mumbai, worked on a project in the village of Massajog Beed. The Beed and adjacent districts have registered an economic impulse in recent years due to the wind energy sector. But the local criminals felt an opportunity in this impulse, which led to offers of extortion and kidnappings. In May last year, six months before the killing of Deshmukh, Sudarshan Ghule, who runs a Crime Union in Beed, said Sunil Shinde, a project officer with Avada. He later registered a police complaint. According to the police, another accused in the case of Crime, Vishnu Chate, called Avada officials, within the reach of Mr. Munde assistant and the powerful local politics Walmik Karad and requested RS 2 Crore. Officials have been threatened that the company will be obliged to carry out operations if they did not pay.

Santosh Deshmukh: a local hero

Local Sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh, feared that threats and extortion calls could force Avada and other similar companies to stop operations in Massajog and that would have an impact on the living of local residents. Determined to stop this, he took over Ghule. On December 6, three days before the crime, Ghule and others beat some employees Avaada at his local office. Santosh Deshmukh and others arrived at the scene and tried to stop this.

According to the police, the accused felt that Santosh Deshmukh was coming to their plans and decided to eliminate him. Walmiik Karad, named in the case of crime, asked the other accused to escape who came to the extortion offer.

Deshmukh has been threatened several times. When he did not fall in line, he was kidnapped and killed on December 9th. The police found that Ghule, Karad and Vishnu Chate were in contact with each other before and after the killing of Deshmukh.

Brutal torture, shocking videos

Santosh Deshmukh was kidnapped by six men in a SUV on December 9 after -Maga at Dongaon Toll Plaza and taken to Kej Taluka. He was found unconscious at Daithna Shivar that night. He was in a hurry at a hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to police officials, he was beaten for more than two hours with a gas pipe an iron rod, wooden sticks and sharp weapons.

The police said in the charging sheet that Santosh Deshmukh was tortured before being killed, and the attackers recorded 15 videos, clicked eight photos and even made two video calls to document the brutality. In one of the videos mentioned in the upload sheet, five accused are seen throwing Mr. Deshmukh with a white pipe and a wooden stick, and hitting him and hitting him. The video looks deshmukh in a half-naked state. Another video shows one of the accusations that urinated him as he bleeds strongly, says the charging sheet.

How the flames scald the minister

Walmiik Karad, the first accused in the case of scary crime, is a close assistant of the NCP leader and then Minister Dhananjay Munde. As Karad’s alleged role in the shocking crime appeared during the probe, the opposition began to ask for actions. The 1,200 -page Crime Investigation Department’s uploaded Department has offered more ammunition opposition. While scary visuals that document the brutality suffered by Deshmukh shone on social networks and TV screens, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took note.

According to some sources, Mr. Fadnavis met with Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief, Ajit Pawar, to discuss the political fall of the action sheet and what he revealed about Karad’s alleged role. Finally, he pulled the plug and Mr. Deshmukh was asked to resign.

Mr. Munde said that it was his demand for the accused because of the Sarpanch murder to receive the hardest punishment. “Seeing the photos that appeared yesterday, I was deeply saddened. The investigation in this regard was completed and the sheet of accusation was filed in court. A judicial investigation is proposed,” he said. The NCP leader said he heard his “inner self” to make the decision. He said that his health was not good, and the doctor advised him to take care of treatment soon.

A sub-complote of caste

The killing of Santosh Deshmukh and his fall also plays against the background of complex caste policy in the Marathwada region in which Beed Falls. This region was the hot bed of the agitation of Maratha quota during which Marathas and Ob Vanjaris faced in a lawn war. This rivalry also played in Lok Sabha surveys last year, when Pankaja Munde – of Vajari – suffered a defeat towards Maratha Face Bajrang Sonawane of the NCP (SP). Interestingly, Santosh Deshmukh, a Maratha, campaigned for Pankaja Mundes during the election period.

In this case of a crime, all accusations, including Karad, Ghule and Chate, are Vanjaris.

Following the crime, several Maratha leaders raised their voice looking for Deshmukh. Among them was the leader Maratha of the BJP, Sush Dhasm, who asked for the resignation of Dhananjay Munde.
