A 37 -year -old Constanta, with the Mumbai Police, committed suicide by hanging at his residence here, an official said.

The incident took place on Monday afterwards in the Goregaon area and was a probe to determine the reason behind the extreme step of Constanta, he said.

The leader was attached to the Kurar police station and lived in Goregaon. He married three months ago, the official said.

It is assumed that he was hanged by a ceiling fan at his home, the official said.

After receiving information, high police officials arrived at the scene and took the leader to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead before the hospitalization, he said.

His family members were informed about the incident.

Based on the primary information, an accidental death report (ADR) was registered and was underway, the official added.
